We travelled a total of 487 kilometres back and forth from Davao to Lake Sebu. It’s our first time to reach South Cotabato and one thing I admired about their place is their access road is well cemented. I guess their budget in doing this superb project was properly planned and money was not wasted. I hope that others would visit this place and imitate it on their own hometown because some towns I visited was very displeasing even if their government officials have big budgets during their term and some towns are handled by big political families for many years.
Anyway, our travel was perfect since the weather is good that time. We anticipate a beautiful view of the place since some of the previous visitors are claiming it is a beautiful place to visit and their pictures are nice. When I reach there, I was stunned by the Seven Falls Zip line because it was really an adventure fighting your fear of heights. You will hear people screaming and laughing at the same time especially when you see the falls down under. Although I was not totally impressed seeing Lake Sebu that time because when I get near it, it was smelly. I guess the fish pens contributed to the bad odor of the lake. The water is color green and brownish, but the tour guide was claiming that the water of the lake reflects the nature that surrounds it. Moreover, the local government makes sure in maintaining the cleanliness of the lake by not allowing the local folks to throw their waste in the lake. Even though we expect much of the scenery since some pictures we’ve seen were beautiful, we are still thankful that we learned something from our tour guide who is also a pure Tiboli. Actually she is in her third year in high school and working as a tour guide at Punta Isla as her spare-time activity during weekends. We learned that Lake Sebu has 11 islands and Seven Falls is one the lake’s outlets. Moreover, it rains every afternoon and the climate especially during night is so cold.
I realized pictures are deceiving, stories are exaggerated, but lessons are worth learning.
